Powder Room's Artistic Director
The idea to create a hair and makeup studio, The Powder Room, was born from a vision while working and operating a high-end beauty studio in Chelsea, London. I came back to Brisbane, worked for a while with Brisbane hairdresser Stelios Papas in the salon and working in his creative team, with session styling. During that time I had the privilege of working with some of the best hairdressers around the world such as Trevor Sorbie, Antionette Benders, Joh Bailey, to name a few.
It seemed a natural progression to open The Powder Room in New Farm. It was a prefect choice for a boutique salon and makeup studio. My husband and business partner Paul, is commercial photographer who also runs a company called “Brisbane Headshots” and "4005 Creative".
Together we also create advertising imagery for large hair companies, it's the type of beautiful imagery you see hanging in hair salons on large banners.
What is your star sign? Capricorn
How long have you been hairdressing? 26 years short years ☺
What do you love about what you do? I love my clients and sharing, caring and lots of chats!
What do you like to drink? Usually a nice South Australian red (we are so spoilt in this country)
What do you talk about most? My Devon Rex cat I think, I’m a crazy cat woman, my family and my new love of hot yoga.
What’s your career highlight? Starting my own business, and seeing it grow, apart from our salon, we also have a Wedding business that looks after 600+ Brides a year as well as a successful commercial photography company “Brisbane headshots”
Your best hair tip? Don’t forget about treatments, they will make a colour really last…But also at home, they are the best way to get an amazing blowdry.
